This document sets out the procession and traffic management plan for the event, the planned road closures and diversionary and emergency routes. It also contains details of tempor


Traffic Management

The management of the traffic before during and after the procession relies upon the closing and opening of roads at a variety of times during the period.
A schedule is enclosed detailing all the roads to be closed and the time of closure.

Overview

The road closure is a rolling road closure both in terms of opening and closing of the roads. The roads will be closed in the following order.

1200 Linkway will be closed along with its junctions at Basingbourne Rd & Greenways.
1400 Greenways will be closed along with its junctions at Beech Ride & Little Copse.
1400 Courtmoor Avenue along with its junctions at Courtmoor Ave & Reading Road South
1415 Reading Road South along with its junctions at Durnsford Ave & Castle Street
1420 Reading Road South along with its junctions at Lynford Terrace & Carthona Drive
1430 Reading Road South along with its junctions at Dinorben Avenue, Aldershot Road, and Connaught Road
1500 Connaught Road along with its junctions at Upper Street, Albany Road, Church Road, Burnside, & Kings Road
1530 Kings Road along with its junctions at Clarence Road, Pinewood Hill, Albert Street, Fleet Road
1600 Fleet Road along with its junctions at Stockton Ave, Birch Ave, Church Road, Branksomewood Road, Victoria Road, Upper St, Reading Rd South & Crookham Rd
1630 Reading Rd North along with its junctions at Harlington Way, Calthorpe Park, and Tavistock Road

Procession

At 13:30 hours, or as soon as it is deemed safe to do so thereafter, the head of the procession will move to the junction of Linkway & Courtmoor Avenue.
At 1400 hours the procession will commence. The procession will be led by the Dolphin Marching Band followed by the Emergency Service Vehicles and a Princess Floats. This block of vehicles will be followed by the remaining entries who will follow at a safe distance.
The last cart should exit from Parkway between 1430 and 1500. The head of the procession should reach the end of the procession, Calthorpe Park, by approx 1600 hours. It is anticipated that the last float should reach this point by 1700 hours.

Road Opening

The schedule for opening the roads is very dependent on the situation at each junction in relation to the location of the end of the procession and the numbers of spectators in the area. Advice will be taken from the Team Leaders at each location and the Police (if available).

Diversionary and Emergency Routes
Maps are enclosed showing the procession route, roads classed as emergency access roads and diversionary routes.

Parking Restrictions

There are no parking restrictions in place however, residents of Linkway & Connaught Road have been advised of the procession route

The enclosed map shows the signage for the diversion & Road Closure.
